Lachi turns inclusion into celebration on new single “Moves”

Lachi's "Moves" is a powerful message about belonging. The production is a turn of self-expression into a party and invites all to the dancefloor. Growing up with ADHD and disability, she created the track to remind people that differences should never be hidden or fixed. They must be seen and appreciated and embraced.

It’s a place of infectious energy and uplifting messages where individuality is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to be proud of who they are. The song is about interaction and community. A collective statement of empowerment featuring voices from the disability community, including members of the RAMPD network and television personality Jay Thomas Manuel, as well as disability activist and former touring artist Dom Kelly.

The artist observes the various ways in which bodies move along the track, and a chorus of voices replies. The call and response structure of the song encourages a feeling of collective happiness that makes the audience feel like they are part of something greater than themselves. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that there is no one way to be, move, or experience the world.
