Aflu Enza's "Low-Poly Demake," which is equal parts free-wheeling and meticulously crafted, is a daring first statement from San. "Low-Poly Demake" is the debut track from “THELASTIME.” The project operates like a truncated collage, with alternate rock, hip-hop, and EDM seamlessly tied together and an emotional throughline that makes it hard to sit still while listening.
Low-Poly Demake is a game about contrast. The production strikes a balance between synth-heavy textures and live instrumentation, creating a sound that is both intimate and expansive, organic and digital. The album's cinematic weight is enhanced by the juxtaposition of crunching guitars and trap-inspired percussion with intermittent ambient textures.
Aflu Enza does not mind genre-hopping. Moments of emo, funk, rage, and ambient music emerge instinctively, never forced. Instead, these influences only expand the record’s emotional spectrum, leaving moments of heaviness balanced by space, atmosphere, and introspection. The result is a lived-in project, restless, expressive, and deeply personal.
The persona of the album also heavily relies on collaboration. With contributions from SoundCloud veterans including Antwon, Houdinne, and Coupe Cortez, as well as a rotating cast of Bay Area musicians, instrumentalists, and vocalists, Low-Poly Demake feels rooted in community. All four voices add texture without dampening the album’s focused vision.
