Richard Green reflects on life’s final chapters with poetic grace in “Sea of Memories”

Richard Green returns for this moving conclusion to his first EP in the A Journey trilogy entitled "Sea of Memories." This track was recorded at the legendary Studio Elfo in Italy. It expresses the sadness and pensiveness we feel when reflecting on significant moments in our lives as the end approaches. It's a complex exploration of time and memory, peopled in Green's distinctive manner: sensitive but sharp.

Green is also reputed for his versatility in musical styles and being able to handle them well. He draws on his ten years of study in London and his present, bicontinental life between Milan and London to develop a neoclassical sound that is at once cinematic and deeply personal. Joining with the outstanding Archimia string quartet and pianist Irene Veneziano, he blends the beauty of classical music infused with a modern light rhythm that expands into territory beyond usual.

"Sea of Memories" is full of contrasts that provide it life. It begins with quiet, pensive-sounding piano phrases that stimulate your thinking and progresses into a boisterous middle section that is filled with rock-inspired power. This cunning bit of inverting the traditional not only violates the habit but also reflects how restless life can be, alternating phases of quiet with bursts of frantic activity. Green is the artist of form and feeling.

Sea of Memories is the first volume of a trilogy that presents mankind from the perspective of sound. Richard Green has created a work which celebrates the past, but also one that reminds people of their own journeys. It's quite deep in terms of film, emotions, and the way it blends classical and modern. It’s a piece that touches people and makes an impact and is still relatable and very human.
